Athletes, cooks, charge-by-the-hour workers: Watson Stopwatches and Timers is as comprehensive as Timer/Countdown apps go.
First of all, if you’re always up against the clock (or multiple clocks) this clean and easy-to-operate app allows you to create any number of stopwatches, timers and runners and run them independently or simultaneously, with no lag I might add.
This app is free to install, so naturally expect some in-app advertising, but not in an intrusive way. There is a purchasable version which eliminates advertising, but as I said, you’ll get along just fine with the free version as the interface has been designed to keep those ads at bay.
Adding a new stopwatch or timer is incredibly simple, just tap the + sign in the top right of the app. Remember, Stopwatches time up, Timers count down. Starting and stopping timers can be achieved by one tap of the play or pause button, multiple timers can be set to run at once by simply tapping through the play buttons. This is great for sports coaches timing relay teams, cooks who want to time multiple pots on the stove and musicians.
Each of your timers can be renamed, to whatever you wish. Simply open out the options for your timer (by tapping the three blocks on the left), and hit the settings icon. Here you can change the default name to something more relevant – ideal if you have multiple timers on the go.
Timer panels can be moved about by again revealing the timer options and tapping the up and down arrows as you please. If you wish to focus your efforts on just one of the timers, open up the timer options and tap the expand icon (four outward facing arrows). This will bring your timer into full view and provides a neat lap time feature, perfect for swimmers using a water proof smartphone. Tap the ‘Lap’ button to record lap times and have them displayed in full view mode.
Another cool-to-know feature of this handy app: Stopwatches and timers are stored in a database, so you can exit the application, even reboot your phone or tablet they will still be running when you start the app again. This means all your awesome times and sporting achievements will be stored for future bragging!
This app comes with some other additional features, such as setting timers to record in tenths of a second, speech options for timer completion, you can also configure notification sounds with ringtones. For those with something to shout about, stopwatch times can be published to the whendidi application.
Watson Stopwatches and Timers look gorgeous on both smartphones and Tablets, the app is very well coded (weighing in at just over 1MB) and most importantly, simple to use. The app is available from Google Play today, you can get it via the link below. Ready…Steady…Go!
